What to Bring and Expect for first timers.

Are you ready to take-off into the world of 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu? As a beginner, it's natural to feel a mix of excitement and nerves. To help you prepare, we've got you covered with a comprehensive guide on what to bring and what to expect in your first 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu class.

What to Bring:
At first you won’t need all the gear, if you decide to really give it a go there are a few small things you will need but as this is all about beginners and first timers we will keep it simple.

1. Comfortable clothing: A Tshirt is fine to start with, along with shorts and/or tights. Just make sure there are no pockets (so fingers & toes don’t get caught) zippers, buckles, buttons, basically anything hard/sharp on them as there is a chance they injure others or damage our mats. 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu focuses on no-gi grappling, so you won't need a traditional gi.

2. Water bottle: Stay hydrated throughout your training session.

3. Towel: A small towel is handy for wiping away sweat.

4. Mouthguard (optional): Consider bringing a mouthguard for added protection.

5. Payment (if needed): Make sure to bring payment for your lesson, if you haven't already settled it or you aren’t on a trial session.

6. Open mind and positive attitude: Be prepared to learn and embrace the 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu style.

What to Expect:

1. Dynamic warm-up: Expect a high-energy warm-up session to get your blood pumping and muscles ready for action.

2. Technique-focused instruction: Your experienced instructor will guide you through fundamental techniques, breaking them down into detail.

3. Drilling and practice: Be prepared to drill techniques repeatedly to build memory and confidence.

4. Live sparring and drilling (optional): Depending on your comfort level, you may participate in controlled live sparring to apply your new skills.

5. Physical intensity: 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu is a physically demanding style, so be prepared to push yourself and sweat.

6. Supportive environment: Embrace the camaraderie and encouragement from your fellow students and instructors.

7. Focus on fundamentals: Your first class will emphasize essential techniques and principles, laying the groundwork for your 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu journey.
